RockStar II: Staying Alive takes the player into a glitzy 70´s-style space club, where RockStar´s backing vocals, The Supernovas, are trapped. The girls were given a strange tasting drink by some crazy fan, got all hyped up and didn´t notice when the club closed. Now the place is packed with all kinds of dreadful cleaning robots that will shred to pieces anything they come across.
Players can walk, run, jump and fly - using a fuel-powered jetpack - around five levels. When RockStar finds a backing vocal, he has to carry her to the end of the level. The hero drops the girl everytime he fires a weapon - he needs his hands free. As soon as she´s off his shoulder, she will dance away to the cool 70´s soundtrack... If she falls off a dance floor, the player loses a life. Keeping a grip on the girl while shooting the hordes of enemies makes for one of the game´s most enjoyable challenges.
Another cool feature is the toilet maze, a labyrinth of interconnected tube-shaped metal booths. One booth leads to another: the player has to take RockStar (with a Supernova on his shoulders!) through the right booth sequence, in a tricky and fun puzzle. As RockStar and the girl pop in and out of the booths, the screen pans smoothly around the level following the heroes. Crushing doors, floating dance floors, distracting ravers and crazed electronic DJs will also keep players busy, making for over 3 hours of fun and challenging gameplay.
