Released in 1985 for the ZX Spectrum, Sex Crime is one of the most extreme and controversial titles from the early days of independent development in Portugal. Adopting an arcade structure, the game focuses its gameplay strictly on the mechanic of sexual violence. The objective consists of invading four apartments, interconnected by an elevator, to commit sexual assaults against female characters within a time limit, with the goal of obtaining the maximum score.
Progression requires the user to avoid a guard who patrols the floors. Falling into the elevator shaft causes instant death, as does being caught by the guard who opens fire and penalizes the player with the literal message of having made "a hole in his tomatoes".
Released in the same year as Paradise Café and circulating marginally in the informal market, it took transgression to a whole other level, daring to go further than the first and in a much more sadistic way.
